This issue has been fixed in this firmware. Resolved a Picture Adjustment issue found on 75-0515 firmware. Customers reported that after changing the Picture Adjustment parameters for HDMI 1, the value of Contrast Enhancement would automatically go back to 0. It has been fixed in this firmware. Resolved a playback issue with regular DVD discs found on 75-0515 firmware. Customers reported that if the "DVD 24p Conversion" was set to "On", pressing the REV (rewind) button within the DVD playback could cause the player to immediately freeze up. This issue has been resolved in this firmware. Resolved a HDMI Audio issue with some 2L Blu-ray Music discs. Customers reported that if the AV Sync was set to 90ms and above, there might be no audio signal from both HDMI outputs. Modified the RS-232 serial control protocol: we eliminated the "#APP FFR" due to the removal of Film Fresh service, added the "#APP BER" to enable access to the Berlin Philharmoniker concert service, also fixed an issue with "#SZM" that could not change the Aspect Ratio. Added support for the “Pandora Premiers” station in Pandora. Upgraded the Netflix application to the latest version certified for OPPO BDP-10x models. This version features a brand new user interface. It also contains improved adaptive streaming technology which will improve streaming quality for high-speed internet connections. The new Netflix application should help customers who have reported poor streaming quality during peak hours. (On a related note, recently customers reported that Netflix streaming on OPPO players and other streaming devices could become unstable with error message like "not connect to internet". In our experience this issue is not caused by the player or its firmware update. It could be either a server-side problem or an Internet traffic problem. Should this happen to your device, please report the outage to Netflix. Netflix recommends a troubleshooting method of de-activating the device and re-activating it. De-activation can be done from the OPPO player’s setup menu (Setup -> Device Setup -> Netflix -> De-activate). Re-activation can be done by accessing the Netflix application from the Home Menu. In most cases, Netflix service can resume working after a few tries. The new Netflix application in this update contains additional network troubleshooting tool which can be used to test your connection to Netflix servers.) Added the "Digital Concert Hall" application from Berliner Philharmoniker, which provides live and recorded classical music concerts in HD video from leading orchestras all over the world. Removed the "Film Fresh" application which is no longer functional due to the service provider stopping the service. Improved Gapless Playback performance. Resolved issues such as the second track playing twice before moving to the third track, and resolved an issue where the Gracenote information could not be fetched when playing WAV files. (On a related note, there is a small chance in Gapless Playback mode that the second and successive FLAC or APE files become slightly chopped off before moving to the next track. It might be related to the "Compresssion Level" setting during the file encoding. Should this happen, please contact OPPO service and provide some sample files.) Resolved an issue where user settings (Size, Distance, Trim) inside the Speaker Configuration were incorrectly applied to the Headphone Out signal route. We revised the algorithm in this firmware and the Headphone Out signal is no longer affected by the Speaker Configuration changes. Added a safety feature for BDP-103/103D: the "SACD Output" format is set to "PCM" by default. The reason is that the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) used on these two models cannot adjust the volume for DSD signals, so the analog volume level could automatically switch back to 100 when a DSD stream is detected. This safety feature will force the DSD stream to be decoded as a PCM stream before sending it to the DAC, which can help control the volume when loading SACD disc(s). Added support for the "4Kx2K@50/60Hz" resolution to the BDP-103D/105D (HDMI 1 only, and in YCbCr 4:2:0 format only). The "4Kx2K Output" setting for the BDP-103D/105D is set to "Auto 4K 50/60Hz 4:2:0" by default. Please note that once "4Kx2K@50/60Hz" is activated, the user choices of "Color Space (HDMI 1)" and "Deep Color (HDMI 1)" in "Setup Menu -> Video Setup -> HDMI Options" is not used. Resolved an issue of “Reset Factory Defaults” not erasing the user account for the Youtube Leanback application. Resolved an "A/V Sync" related issue where the A/V Sync data was not be automatically applied to the Coaxial and Optical digital audio outputs after the player was powered on. Improved the file sorting algorithm for the media center (the Music, Photo and Movie options on the Home Menu). The player can automatically detect numbers located at the beginning or end of the filenames and sort the files by the numeric value. Albums with numbered tracks will play in the proper order. Extended support for the PCM audio format for up to 24-bit, 352.8 kHz / 384 kHz via the USB DAC IN port (BDP-105D only). Resolved an audio sample rate issue between the BDP-105D's USB DAC IN and computers running Mac OS X. Added the timing adjustment for external subtitles. This can be accessed from the "Option" menu -> "Subtitle Adj." -> "Sync." when playing movies from a USB flash drive or external hard drive. A new version of the Windows driver for the USB Audio DAC is available for download here (v2.22). It is compatible with BDP-105, 105D and the upcoming headphone amplifier HA-1. Please uninstall the previous version(s) of the OPPO USB DAC driver from your computer before installing this new one. Resolved several issues involving Gapless Player, such as the track title not getting refreshed in the Now Playing interface, and the player becoming unresponsive when trying to access a disc in the tray without stopping the currently ongoing Gapless Playback. Resolved an issue with Gapless Playback with several customer-encoded WAV files. It was caused by an additional “List” information segment presented in the WAV file Header, and we have added support for this segment so that Gapless Playback now functions properly with these files. Improved HDMI handshake performance for the HDMI input ports. Resolved a compatibility issue with the HDMI 2.0 input port on some Panasonic 4K TVs. For example, the #4 HDMI port on TV model TC-L65WT600. This port contains additional Extended Display Identification Data (VSDB) blocks which caused our player to switch to DVI output mode and discard the audio packages, so there would be no audio from the TV speakers. We added support for these specific VSDB blocks and resolved the no audio issue. Resolved a compatibility issue between BDP-103/105's HDMI 1 Output to the McIntosh MX150/151 AV Processors. Users reported no audio when using this combination, so we added special instructions for these A/V processors in the HDMI handshake process. We highly recommend that you contact McIntosh Technical Support to upgrade your MX150/151 firmware to the latest version. Resolved the Wi-Fi connection failure with access points or routers using WEP security. This error was introduced by 67-1204 firmware and this version corrects it. Resolved an audio truncation issue occurring with several DVD-Audio discs. Customers reported that the first note or two was cut off between track changes, and when the PREV button was used to restart the current track. Sample discs included "Queen: A Night At The Opera", "Buena Vista Social Club", "Beatles: Love" and "R.E.M.: New Adventures in Hi-Fi". This error was introduced by 67-1204 firmware and this version corrects it. Resolved the playback failure with certain customer-encoded audio files in WAV, FLAC and AIFF formats. Symptoms included files being skipped, files being played with static noise, and files causing the player to freeze. The 67-1204 firmware adds more support to meta data tags in these files but encounters this problem if the meta data tags are in non-standard location. This version further improves the support for meta data tags and corrects the problem. Resolved an audio dropout issue occurring with "Monsters University (BD, 2013)", related to its Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and 7.1 audio tracks when the player's HDMI Audio Format was set to Bitstream. We worked with Dolby and our decoder chip maker to address this type of audio dropouts. Resolved an issue where a brief static noise could be heard when streaming music from a computer running Mac OS X to the BDP-105's USB DAC input. It could happen when the music stream was paused for a few seconds and then resumed, and it could be heard through the analog audio outputs, including the 7.1, Stereo, and Headphone outputs. We improved the audio muting logic and have eliminated this static noise. Resolved an issue where a brief static noise could be heard when playing SACD discs in DSD mode on the BDP-105. This burst of noise was audible at the beginning of a track or when switching to the next track. It could be heard through the analog audio outputs, including the 7.1 and Stereo ports. We improved the audio muting logic and have eliminated this static noise. Added 24 Hz support for customer-encoded video files in 480P24 and 720P24 formats. The original frame rate can be preserved when upscaling the content to 1080p, e.g., when Resolution is set to 1080P, the 720P23.976 content is output as 1080P23.976, and 720P24 is output as 1080P24. Previously, these formats were frame-rate converted to 60 Hz. Added an "INSTANT REPLAY" function to video playback. If the customer presses the AB REPLAY button twice (two presses within 1 second), video playback will be automatically rewound 10 seconds. Added support for playing CUE files and DSD64 files (.DFF and .DSF) over DLNA. The DLNA server must support these formats as well. A new version of oShare DLNA server that provides these functions is available now, and can be downloaded here from SourceForge.net. Resolved a HDMI handshake failure when the OPPO's HDMI Output is connected to an A/V receiver, while the same receiver's HDMI output is fed back to the OPPO's HDMI input. We added special handling for this kind of "loop" connection and resolved the handshake failure. However, we highly recommend that you do not use this "loop chain" connection since it might cause unexpected HDMI handshake or CEC results, or even cause electrical damage. Added indications on the front panel and TV screen for DSD file (.dsf, .dff) playback. If a DSD stream is output through HDMI, the "SACD" icon on the front panel will be lit and the TV screen will show the “Track Type” as "DSD". If a PCM stream is output, then both the "SACD" and "PCM" icons on the front panel will be lit, and the TV screen will show the “Track Type” as "DSD to PCM". This way, the customer will know whether a DSD-to-PCM conversion is happening in the player. A USB flash drive is required for this purpose, and the backup file is encrypted to only allow access from OPPO Technical Support. Added the “4Kx2K Output” selection to Setup Menu -> Video Setup with two settings: “Auto” and “Forced”. The “Auto” setting will upscale 24 Hz content to 4K if the connected display supports a 4K input. The “Forced” setting will output a 4K signal regardless of whether or not the player detects a 4K display and irrespective of the original source format. Added the "Auto" mode when choosing the SACD output audio format. This mode is available at the Setup Menu -> Audio Format Setup -> SACD Output. Added support for automatic file and folder sorting when accessing SMB servers. The files and folders are now sorted in alphabetic order. Added support for MKV files with PGS subtitles. Added Zoom functionality to video content sent through the HDMI IN ports. Upgraded the "CinemaNow" and "YouTube" applications. Improved support for CUE playlists. Now, a single CUE file can point to multiple music files in the same folder. Improved the "Auto Play Mode" setting to include DVD and Blu-ray Discs in addition to the already supported CD and SACD. This selection is available at the Setup Menu -> Playback Setup. Resolved a playback issue with several DVD-Audio discs. Customers reported that after upgrading to the BDP10X-58-0917 firmware, some DVD-Audio discs would play for a few seconds then the player was locked up, and all you heard was white noise. Samples include “Elvis: 30 #1 Hits”, “Bruckner: Symphony No. 7”, “Dream Theater”, “Nightwish: Once”, as well as discs self-authorized using “HD-Audio Solo Ultra” program. Resolved a frame rate decoding error for 24 Hz video files. Customers reported that after upgrading to the BDP10X-58-0917 firmware, many MKV, M2TS and TS files which were encoded as 23.976 Hz were decoded as 29.970 Hz. This issue has been resolved. Resolved an incorrect audio Downmix issue with the Stereo audio outputs (BDP-105 only). Customers reported that after setting "Stereo Signal" to "Front Left/Right", they could hear surround channel audio from the dedicated Stereo audio outputs. This issue has been resolved. Resolved a visible streaking issue observed on the BDP-103D player. Customers reported that after turning on the Darbee processing, they could see streaks or stripes in the background details, which became more obvious after increasing the Darbee level or switching to Full-Pop mode. This issue has been resolved in the official release. Resolved a multi-channel DSD support issue when using Dual Display mode. Customers reported that if they connected the HDMI 1 Out to a TV and the HDMI 2 Out to a DSD-capable receiver, the receiver could only recognize the Front Left and Front Right channels even if the players were reading a multi-channel SACD. This issue has been resolved. For the BDP-103D player, this firmware added three commands (QDB, SDB and DRB) to the RS-232 protocol for Darbee control. It also provided finer control over the Darbee level adjustment (in 1% increments). Added an experimental "Gapless Playback" feature. Currently, this feature only works for WAV and APE music files, and can be enabled in the music file navigation interface by pressing the OPTION button and then selecting the "Gapless Playback" option. In Gapless Playback mode, you may use buttons like PAUSE, PLAY, STOP, NEXT and PREV, but not REV and FWD. This feature is still under development and may be improved in future firmware releases. Resolved a compatibility issue with some DVD/BD blank discs. Customers reported that their self-burnt DVD or BD discs failed to load and play on the OPPO players. Samples include Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5G and BD-R DL 50GB blank discs. This firmware upgraded the software driver for the disc loader and resolved this issue. Resolved a compatibility issue with JRiver Media Center software. Customers reported that after installing the latest Public Beta firmware BDP10X-67-1120B, they could no longer see the JRiver's DLNA server in the list of My Network. This issue has been resolved in the official release. Resolved a channel mapping error in the DSD file playback, which only happened on BDP-105 players. Customers reported that if they set the "Stereo Signal" to "Front Left/Right", switched off the player then switched it on again, and played 2-channel DSD files from external storage, the Front Left channel sound could also be heard from the Surround Right output. This issue has been resolved in the release. Customers have reported that with normal TV playback, if there is any change in the content audio format (for example, from Dolby Digital 5.1 to Dolby Digital 2.0), the audio/video outputs could become out-of-sync. This issue has been significantly improved upon in this firmware. (We are aware of an audio startup delay issue when switching from a Dolby Digital 5.1 input to a Dolby Digital 2.0 input, and we are working to resolve it in a future firmware version.) Resolved an issue where the player would slow down, and sometimes freeze entirely, when navigating files on USB connected hard drives. Several customers have reported this issue with their Western Digital external hard drives, and they had to power down the player then power it back on to restore its performance. This issue has been resolved. Resolved an issue where a loud popping noise could be heard at the end of playing some WAV, MP3, and DSD music tracks. Resolved an issue where accepting a cable television signal through the HDMI inputs might result in a black screen. Customers reported that if they kept changing the TV channels using the cable remote, sometimes they would only see a black screen on the TV, even though the audio was still ok. In order to restore the video, they had to force a HDMI handshake (changing the input source, hot-plug the HDMI cable, etc.). Improved CUE file support. Now CUE files can contain non-English characters in UTF-8 encoding. Added support for a newly developed iOS application named "MediaControlHD" (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mediacontrolhd/id648243911). It is designed for iPad and iPad mini, and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store for free. It works with the BDP-103/5 installed with firmware 52-0522 and newer. Resolved a compatibility issue with certain DSD files. Added support for the ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) audio format. Added support for briefly displaying the current audio information on the player's front panel when switching audio tracks. The audio information is displayed as "Language, Sample rate, Number of channels", such as "ENG 192/5.1". If no language information is available, it will be displayed as "AUD, Sample rate, Number of channels". This function can be applied to music files on local storage and supported audio formats include FLAC, WAV, APE and MP3. Added a feature that allows the creation of playlists while accessing music files from local USB storage. When navigating these music files, pressing the OPTION button will bring up a menu with a prompt to either "Add to playlist" or "Goto playlist". The created playlist file is stored within the local USB storage, inside "OPPO_Media_Info/playlist". Added support for the AIFF audio format. (Standard AIFF files are supported. AIFF files with AIFF-C/sowt encoding generated by Mac OS X are not supported.) Added support for the ExFAT file system. Added additional Crossover Frequency selections (50, 70, 130, 140 and 160Hz) in "Setup Menu"->"Audio Processing"->"Crossover". Added a feature that allows the user to decide which mode (Auto, Film and Video) to use when performing video de-interlacing. Resolved the HDMI high bit-rate (HBR) audio loss issue with Yamaha RX-V673, V773, A820 and A1020 AV Receivers. Customers have reported that when sending DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD signals in "Bitstream" mode through HDMI to these Yamaha receivers, any signal interruption (resolution change, source selection, etc.) will cause Yamaha to display "Audio Decoder OFF" on the front panel and produce no sound from the speakers. This issue has been resolved. Resolved a recently reported FLAC file playback issue. Some FLAC files made from the latest version of the EAC (Exact Audio Copy) software tool could not be played on the BDP-103/105 players. This issue has been resolved. Improved the down-mixing algorithm for the BDP-105's headphone output. This results in better volume and sound staging when playing certain multi-channel audio sources. This change takes advantage of the main audio DSP (digital signal processor) that is normally assigned to the multi-channel analog output. When headphones are connected, the multi-channel analog output is muted and the DSP is temporarily reconfigured for stereo down-mixing, and its output is routed to the headphone amplifier. Please do not try to adjust the player's audio processing settings while the headphones are plugged in, as these settings are only temporarily used and will be restored to the user's original settings when the headphones are removed. Added a feature that allows the adjustment of the audio delay time within the range of -100ms to +100ms. This can be set in "Setup Menu"->"Audio Processing" -> "A/V Sync", and the delayed time will be applied to all output terminals including HDMI 1 and 2, Coaxial, Optical, and 7.1 outputs (including the Stereo outputs of the BDP-105). The actual audio delay effect might be different for each of the output terminals due to the different audio process algorithms and signal paths used for each output. Please adjust this setting based on the actual output terminal in use. The negative adjustment values are for cancelling out the audio delay that the player automatically applies. Depending on the video source and the time it takes to process the video, the main decoder chip automatically applies an audio delay in order to optimize audio video synchronization. The negative manual settings reduce the automatic audio delay, while the positive manual settings apply additional delay. Any negative value setting beyond the player's automatic delay will be treated as completely cancelling the automatic delay. For example, if the "A/V Sync" value is manually set to -100ms and for the current video source the player applies a 70ms automatic audio delay, the final result is that the 70ms audio delay gets cancelled and the audio is not delayed at all. It is not possible to put audio ahead of video using this setting. For content sent through HDMI IN, the "A/V Sync" adjustment only works with positive values. Resolved the brief audio pop issue found on the 7.1 and Stereo audio outputs. This popping noise could happen when the player is processing content from a television cable box (through the HDMI inputs), and when channels are switched on the cable box. This issue has been resolved. Added basic support for a USB keyboard. Some of the supported keys and their functions are: Numerical keyboard: if Num Lock is turned on, functions as Numerical buttons; if Num Lock is turned off, functions as navigation buttons ("2", "4", "6", "8"). ARROW buttons (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT): functions as navigation buttons. HOME button: functions as HOME button. END button: functions as STOP button. Page Up/Down buttons: functions as PAGE UP/DOWN buttons. ESC button: functions as RETURN button. ENTER button: functions as ENTER button. SPACE button: insert a space between characters on the soft keyboard. Improved compatibility with some cable TV boxes, especially from Motorola. Customers have reported that HDMI handshake failures (such as blank green screens, flickering images, and frequent audio drops) could happen when these TV boxes were connected to the HDMI IN port (Front and Back). This issue has been significantly improved in this firmware. (We are aware of an occasional frame drop and audio/video synchronization issue that may still happen when accepting 480i, 576i or 1080i signals from certain cable boxes, and are working to resolve it in a future firmware version.) Improved the support for large capacity external hard drives. The maximum size for a single partition can be up to 16 TB when using GPT partition table and NTFS or ExFAT file system. Improved the digital audio compatibility with the Apple Airport Express (2nd Generation). Customers have reported that frequent audio dropouts were heard on BDP-105's analog audio outputs (both 7.1 and Stereo) when accepting a digital audio signal from the Airport Express 2's optical audio out. With this firmware, the audio dropouts have been eliminated or significantly reduced. Removed a limitation in "Audio Processing"->"Speaker Configuration", that turns off the SBL and SBR speakers automatically when the Center speaker is set to "Off". However, if the SL and the SR speakers are set to "Off", the SBL and the SBR speakers will still be muted. In the previous firmware, customers have been reporting that the sound could be out of sync with the picture. This issue has been improved. Improved media file navigation on USB hard disk or thumb drives. Added Thumbnail View mode for Movie and Music. Customers can press the RED color button to quickly switch between File List mode and Thumbnail View mode. There is also an improvement to the responsiveness achieved by caching some of the media information in an "OPPO_Media_Info" folder on the USB drive. NOTE: for users who prefer that the player not write anything to the USB drive, there is a "Cache Media Info" item in the "Setup Menu" under "Device Setup". We recommend that you set this "Cache Media Info" option to ON and do not delete the "OPPO_Media_Info" folder and its files. This will deliver user experience improvement in media navigation. On the other hand, turning this option OFF can prevent the player from writing to your USB drive, at the cost of slower media file navigation. Added the "Blank HDMI 2" option in the Setup Menu -> Video Setup -> 3D Setting. This allows the player to force HDMI 2 to output a 2D blank screen when HDMI 1 outputs 3D video. Some customers reported that during 3D movie playback, when HDMI 1 was connected to a 3D display and HDMI 2 was connected to a non-3D receiver which in turn is connected to the same 3D display, there was no audio coming from the receiver. This issue has been resolved. Resolved the incorrect aspect ratio (AR) during some user-created media. In the previous firmware the player may have unnecessarily pillarboxed or stretched the video of some user-created media files. This issue has been resolved. Resolved an incompatibility with older Digital Coaxial or Optical receivers where streaming services (such as Netflix, YouTube) produced no audio. Added support for "Rhapsody" online music and "CinemaNow" movie/TV streaming services. Added "Sleep Timer" option in the Setup Menu -> Device Setup. This allows the player to turn itself off after a specific amount of time. Added support for converting Side-by-Side and Top-Bottom formatted MKV into 3D. During the playback of a compatible MKV, press the 3D button on the remote once to turn on the "2D->3D" conversion then press the 3D button again to display the "3D Setting" menu. Select "Side-by-Side" or "Top-Bottom" to match the source to convert the image to 3D. Added the support for DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD sound tracks in MKV files.
